Today, I read this hilarious blog posting by Eric S. Raymond about how some clueless Microsoft recruiter attempted to offer him a job. Eric, is a very interesting guy, to say the least, and his leadership in the open source and Linux communities is of immeasurable proportion, which is why the job offer from Microsoft is so outrageous. As an open source community member, myself, I have especially enjoyed learning from Eric over the years. Some of my favorite writings of Eric’s are The Cathedral and the Bazaar, How To Ask Questions The Smart Way, and a variety of other very good reads. I encourage you to take the time to listen to some of Eric’s ideas on technology, politics, and life. You won’t be disappointed.
